What is Ola?

Ola is a community of women coming together for their shared love and passion for surfing and art. Led by three uniquely talented and beautiful women, Ola brings together groups of women from all walks of life that desire to learn more about surfing, creative expression, and themselves as a whole. We encourage our students to engage with themselves in an accepting yet evolving way, helping each one develop their style and approach to surfing in the manner that best suits them individually. This is where the art comes hand in hand, engaging them to delve deeper into their intuitive, creative selves. And all together, with other women who like them, are uniquely talented and capable. We believe we are stronger together and foster a nurturing, supportive collective of women that offer themselves to each other in the shared sentiment of growing!

Mission

The Ola Mission is to share our passions for surfing and creative expression through surf retreats and community events. From women, to women, we intend to hold space for each other to create, be, and explore themselves through surfing and art.

Ola seeks to create a global community of creative women with the shared intention of connecting and uplifting each other through authentic, passionate, and expressive surf and art experiences.

Our Values

Passion

OLA is the embodiment of devotion to passion. We are women following our passion for surfing and art, allowing it to guide us in everything we do. With this drive, we are able to live a life full of joy, sharing this, in hopes of inspiring other women to do the same.

Rawness

With OLA, what you see is what you get. We always show up as we are, unapologetically ourselves. It is vital to us to create and live in a community that values genuineness. We encourage each other to be ourselves, and seek to hold space for others to tap into their own raw authenticity.

Creativity

OLA believes in the innate creativity within every being. We have found that expressive art practices provide profound instances of self discovery. Creating intuitively is a truly liberating experience that has provided us with such insight about our innate artistic abilities. We wish to explore and expand our community of creatives through sharing our personal art practices with fellow women.

Playfulness

A quote we OLA women live by is: “Life is too important to be taken seriously.” We value the sentiment to stay in touch with our childlike nature, roaming through life with curiosity. To keep our dreams alive, we maintain an uninhibited view on the world, where anything and everything is possible so long as we approach life with a sense of intrigue and play. It’s quite freeing to live in this way and we hope to ignite the child within the women we work with so they can experience this liberation as well.

Community

OLA was created through and by community, always being uplifted by others. We humans are social creatures and have thrived in community since our time on earth began. It takes a village to nurture and grow something as intentional and impactful as OLA. We seek to stay rooted in the community we came from and grow this community to a global scale of women with shared mindsets. For us, it rings true that, “Happiness is only real when shared.”
