Lu is a surf addict. No matter the conditions of the sea, she will be out there catching anything she can! Surfing has deepened her connection with herself and her friends. She has been based in Nosara since 2019 as she found it to be a quiet life surrounded by a beautiful community that feels like family. With the voice of an angel, she sings to her friends and strangers, never failing to bring a smile to their faces. You can see Lu gracefully flying on a longboard from a mile away, with her signature style: fingertips to the sky. Lu began to share the stoke in 2021 as an instructor, which inspired a new appetite for growing the community. She is the genius mind that oversees the organization of OLA!

Ceca began surfing at a young age with her dad when she traveled to Nosara to live there part-time during her childhood. The ocean has always felt like home to her. Like her art, she moves freely in the water, surfing with an old-school yet playful style, dancing on the waves. Ceca has been teaching surf lessons for several years in California and in 2022 decided to move her surfing journey to Costa Rica full-time. When she’s not surfing, she’s doodling to Joni Mitchell songs, leading art workshops, teaching kids yoga, playing with her dogs, studying for fun, or cooking vegan meals for friends. She is the creative genius behind the art of OLA!

If she’s not in the water, you can find Mari in the community garden, practicing yoga in the forest, or snuggling up with a good book in a hammock. A Tara Brach podcast might be playing in the background. When Mari moved to Nosara and started surfing 6 years ago, her life was flooded with purpose and passion. The journey of surfing sparked her creative fire and suddenly her entire life began to revolve around it. She rides the waves like she does life, with fluidity yet intention. Mari has been sharing her devotion to surfing with others as a surf instructor in Nosara for almost a decade now! She is the genius surf guide of OLA!
